Ball Brothers - Christmastime Volume 1
The Ball Brothers are unabashedly fans of Christmas and its special music, and that energetic love shines through every song on their new holiday album, "Christmastime Volume 1." A mix of sacred and traditional Christmas songs, this recording holds unforgettable Christmas favorites with the unmistakable harmony that the Ball Brothers are known for. With Andrew Ball, Daniel Ball, Matthew Davis, and Chad McCloskey, the group is in top form as they present these great songs.
Like everyone else, each of the group members has a favorite Christmas song on the album. For Matthew Davis, a favorite was "Little Drummer Boy," a song that he says he can relate to. Matthew says, "The song talks about how the little drummer boy uses his gifts to honor the king. And ever since I was a little boy, I have always strived to use my gifts to honor Jesus because that's what we're here for. We're here to use our gifts for Him."
Andrew Ball says he's always enjoyed "A Cradle In Bethlehem" ever since he heard a classic arrangement of the song by Nat King Cole. Well, on this new album, the Ball Brothers managed to have their own string section for their own stunning arrangement. "But more importantly than that," Andrew Ball says, "I think the arrangement allows you to hear the message of the song above the strings, above everything else.... It just beautifully paints the picture of that night. That's where the Savior entered into this earth and brought hope for all mankind."
For Chad McCloskey, "Christmas Is" is a favorite because of its focus on Christ. Chad says, "It's a fun, catchy song that starts talking about the traditional things that Christmas has to offer from Christmas presents to Christmas caroling. But I think what I like most about the song is it doesn't just stop there. It goes on to talk about Christmas is so much more than the snow and the lights and the presents and the trees. Christmas is really about Jesus and the good news that He's brought to us back on His birth. I think why we like it so much is it talks about Jesus above all."
"We Are The Reason" is a special Christmas song that ties the birth of Christ at Christmas into the full story of the Gospel. Daniel Ball notes that it's "not just that He came but why He came. ‘We Are the Reason' explains that it was more than just His birth, as He came with a purpose and a mission to live a sinless, perfect life, ultimately become sin's sacrifice on the cross of Calvary. The reason Jesus came for you and for me is the message of hope that is brought at Christmas."
Join the Ball Brothers for these Christmas favorites of theirs, along with many more festive holiday songs on "Christmastime Volume 1."
