DOWN EAST BOYS - Amen
The word "Amen" has been used for hundreds of years in the Christian Church as a way to
express strong agreement within the service. We have heard this word in services for years. I
remember growing up and hearing the saints of the church loudly shouting this word to express
agreement with the pastor's point or at the conclusion of a song. At that moment, they wanted
everyone to know that the words had reached into their very soul, and they wholeheartedly
agreed.
As we were deciding on songs for this project we looked for lyrics that would speak truth to
hearts of listeners. Throughout you will hear fast, medium, and slow melodies with different
musical approaches that all have one conclusion: I believe every word in the Word and I know
we must hold on. We will not trade our crowns for what this world would offer, because He did
it all when I could do nothing. We are awaiting Christ to return and rapture His beloved, the
redeemed. We know He is alive for, suddenly, one morning, He walked out of the tomb alive and
said He would return. So for those who are under the blood, keep looking up, waiting on the day.
Our redemption draweth nigh. Amen!
