INSPIRATIONS - It's In The Savior's Hands
With a legacy of chart-topping hits, the Inspirations have been a fan-favorite group since its
inception in the 1960s. The group has remained popular through generations of fans, and their
new release, "It's In The Savior's Hands," strives to meet the high expectations that their
reputation demands. It does. The current group consists of Martin Cook, Mike Holcomb, Myron
Cook, Luke Vaught, David Ragan, Jodi Hosterman and John Epley. Together, their voices
produce heart-felt melodies and harmonies that have a classic Southern Gospel feel, making "In
The Savior's Hands" another great CD from the Inspirations.
Classic sounds such as "Like What I'm Trading For A Mansion" fit well with the group's style.
"He Looked Beyond My Faults," with its classic melody and Dottie Rambo's inspiring lyrics, is a
comforting, sensitive song. With simple accompaniment, its subdued sound has a power that
some more intense songs from other groups can't match.
The album has a fine balance of fast and slow songs. "Lord, Stir The Wind" is an upbeat song
with a message calling for revival and Holy Spirit filling again. The next song, "So Simple, So
Profound," is more contemplative, offering a meditative look at the simple yet profound love of
God. The next song speeds up with the high-energy "It's Shoutin' Time In Heaven." This song,
popular for many years, finishes off the album with a strong presentation that showcases the
Inspirations' polished musical talent.
The title song of the album, "It's In The Savior's Hands," is also the group's first radio single
from this album. Written by esteemed songwriter Squire Parsons, the song talks about the safety
which is found by trusting in the Lord. It's an encouraging message in times of struggle like
today. The entire CD is quite appropriately inspiring as the Inspirations combine a legendary
sound with strong messages for today's Christians.
