TALLEYS - Love Won
"Love Won" is the first album from the Talleys in its current four-part arrangement. In 2011,
Lauren Talley married Brian Alvey and Brian now joins the group on stage and on this recording,
forming a powerful foursome with the inclusion of his vocal and instrumental talents. In addition
to Lauren and Brian, the group also features Roger and Debra Talley, both award-winning
individuals in Southern Gospel music. "Love Won" includes 13 enjoyable songs of stellar
singing and beautiful music spanning Southern Gospel styles that showcase the group's
accomplished skill.
"Love Won" begins with a stirring orchestral opening that leads into a beautifully sung, inspiring
song. This title song has a sweeping sound that matches its victorious message. Through complex
vocal arrangements and great musical background, the song's theme of love's power and triumph
is emphatically delivered.
"Talk To The Lord About It" is a smooth, upbeat tune whose title is the solution to life's
problems. The song says that no matter what life throws at you, you don't have to bear the
burdens alone. Backed with catchy music, this is a fun song with an uplifting message for today.
Other catchy tunes include "Surely" by Daryl Williams and "The Church Will Overcome," an
energetic Gospel song from Dianne Wilkinson.
Several meditative songs round out the album with powerful messages that contrast well with the
louder, faster songs. "Great Love He Gave" includes a brief recitation that reinforces its message
of Christ's loving sacrifice. The Stuart Townend song "How Deep The Father's Love For Us"
features the Talleys' family harmony in a moving, worshipful performance.
While this is the first Talleys'album to include Brian Alvey, his voice blends seamlessly with the
others and contributes to the group's strong new sound. The Talleys have enjoyed numerous
awards for their music, including eleven number one songs. They perform over 100 concerts
each year and have sung all over the world, as well as on the popular Gaither Homecoming
videos and concerts. "Love Won" is a great album that features excellent song selection, singing
and Southern Gospel music with deep messages.
